Teaching one-on-one traditional drafting techniques for Architects in my Woolloomooloo studio (both these courses are eligible for formal NSW Architects CPD points) and various courses at at the Sydney City East Community College

This site is about preserving traditional architect hand drawing techniques from the onslaught of CAD and electronic technology imperatives

Why offer this course - My philosophy for Drawing by Hand?

I love old style manual drafting and freehand drawing or sketching as it forms a creative connection between the intellect and the emotional, the head and the heart.

I also love teaching face-to-face drawing of any type, plane geometry, freehand sketching, geometrical projection of all sorts including; axonometric, isometric, perspective 1/2/3 point, glide perspective, bird's-eye, plan oblique, elevation oblique etc. etc. - mental gymnastics I call it.

I'm from the "doing as understanding" school, the tactile experience approach to learning.

Technology and society's slavish response to me has gone overboard. We have lost touch with our creative selves, with each other. I want technology to work for me, not me work for technology.

Computers are a tool like any other, just more efficient. I use them to create hybrid drawings or expression, a contemporary way forward.

Join me so you and I can widen our knowledge together and have fun doing some serious things....
